Lighting project completed by EcolightingUK helped Blakemore Foodservice save more than 80% in annual energy consumption and lighting cost, leading to a saving of £46084 every year.
With more than 35 years of experience in the Foodservice sector, Blakemore Foodservice (a division within the group) is a leading multi-temperature food distribution company that supplies the public, multiple and free trade sectors.
Energy-efficient lighting specialists Ecolighting were called in to give advice on the potential energy saving opportunities across their portfolio of warehouses across their estate.
Following several meetings and product demonstrations, Ecolighting were awarded a contract to provide lighting at their Wakefield Depot.
Ecolighting specified their LED Multibay light for the Cold Stores and T5 Rackmaster & Industrial Hi-Saver with energy saver lamps for the ambient areas, each with its own built in programmable high bay PIR & daylight harvesting sensor module.
A return on investment is forecasted in 1.3 years, light levels were also significantly increased in all areas providing a better working environment.
Since being awarded Wakefield, a further two sites in Newport and Wolverhampton (part of the cash & carry division) have been added to the roll out, with further sites within the group being considered.
